DAY 4 (MTD ANNUAL 21 DAYS FAST)
TEXT: “So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer” (Ezra 8:23 NLT)
- PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life into a better one, in Jesus name – Amen.”
We understand from Scriptures that prayer and fasting, among others blessings, empowers believers unto profitable service which also facilitates answers to prayers.
The Bible says: “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John 15:16).
So, what should we expect in today’s prayer and fasting?
Expect answers to your prayers. This is because prayer and fasting also enhances answers to prayers. The Bible says: “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens,….THEN SHALT THOU CALL, AND THE LORD SHALL ANSWER; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am…” (Isaiah 58:6,9).
The fundamental reason why we pray is to get answers. No point praying if you are not expecting answers. Fasting and prayer gives us access to these answers. “Then you shall call, and the Lord shall answer…” This makes it clear that all MTDians are entitled to answers this season of prayer and fasting.
This is why the devil wants to keep us from praying while fasting, so as to rob us of the answers awaiting us. However, we must get smarter than the devil by engaging with all our heart and might

TODAY’S PRAYER GUIDELINES:
- Father, thank you for prayer answered so far, in Jesus name (Matt 7:7).
- Father, let this fasting season mark the end of every frustration and the beginning of our celebration in the MTD Family, in Jesus name (Prov 23:18).
- Father, let everyone that desire to marry in the MTD Family, be settled gloriously this year, in Jesus name (Psalm 68:6)
- Present your requests to God now (Phil 4:6).
DAILY DECLARATION: “This year, 2025, I step into my New Era of Dominion by the Wisdom of God and I commit to serving God faithfully by the help of the Holy Spirit. As a result, my Rewards shall manifest quickly. Amen and amen.”
