DAY 9 (MTD ANNUAL 21 DAYS FAST)
TEXT: “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” (Isaiah 58:6)
- PRAYER: “Father, I thank you for the transformative power of your Word. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your truth penetrate my heart and mind, bringing about a life-changing transformation, in Jesus name. Amen.”
There are benefits to be enjoyed on the altar of prayer and fasting. One of these benefits includes breaking free from the grip of wickedness. For the wicked to give up their wickedness, the God of vengeance must intervene.
Pharaoh refused to release the children of Israel until vengeance came by the Mighty Hand of God. God instructed the Israelites to put the blood on their doorposts and lintels. He passed through Egypt and killed every firstborn of both man and animal. Pharaoh was forced to release Israel. Hallelujah! God will do same for you this season, in Jesus name.
In Isaiah 58:6, today’s anchor scripture, God ordaines fasting as a means to loosen the bonds of wickedness, undo the heavy burdens, let the oppressed go free, and to put an end to slavery. So, prayer and fasting are not just religious exercises but an avenue for invoking God’s vengeance.
The devil will not relinquish his grip without a fierce battle. God Himself said, “And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand” (Exo 3:19). In today’s prayer and fasting we’re invoking God’s vengeance for our victory.
The scripture says, “But the kingdom of God suffers violence, and only the violent take it by force” (Matt 11:12). We are taking our possessions by force.
PROPHETIC PRAYER: The God of vengeance will appear in your case this week, in Jesus name.

TODAY’S PRAYER GUIDELINES:
- Father, release fresh grace on MTD Intercessors for effective prayer, facilitating their rewards, in Jesus name (1Cor 15:10).
- Father, go before us as a Devotional community and make crooked paths straight as we continue to spread your Word, in Jesus name (Isaiah 45:1-3).
- Father, surround all MTDians, their families and all they have with your hedge of protection, shielding them from all satanic attacks this year, in Jesus name (Job 1:10).
- Now, present your requests to God (Phil 4:6).
DAILY DECLARATION: “This year, 2025, I step into my New Era of Dominion by the Wisdom of God and I commit to serving God faithfully by the help of the Holy Spirit. As a result, my Rewards shall manifest quickly. Amen and amen.”
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: “For the wicked to give up their wickedness, the God of vengeance must Intervene.”
