DAY 9 (MTD ANNUAL 21 DAYS FAST)
TEXT: “And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho” (2Kings 2:4)
Let me start this morning by saying that vision is the backbone of focus. Vision energizes focus. Show me a man or woman of vision and I will show you a man or woman that will not be distracted by praise or criticism. This is what today’s anchor scripture communicates. Elisha’s vision to get the double portion of the spirit upon Elijah was what helped him to stay focus even when there were many distractions from his fellow Prophets.
Beloved, if you don’t have the vision of what you are to do this year, there is every tendency that you will be distracted by what someone else is doing or not doing. Before this fasting season is over, catch a vision of God’s plan for your life, write it down and run with it. I see you succeed, in Jesus name.
However, what is in this prayer and fasting?
ALIGNMENT WITH GOD
When we fast and pray, we bring ourselves in alignment with God, gain spiritual strength and it helps us discern the will of God for our lives. The truth of the matter is, we love to eat, we love to spend time watching television and our jobs, family, time and thoughts soak up a lot of our energy. By denying ourselves of these things and other daily activities that take us away from God, these are the avenues that fasting uses to help us re-align our focus on God. You will not miss out on God this year, in Jesus name.
PRAYER: Be empowered for unbroken focus, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION:
This year 2024, I am advancing in adversity because I’ve been redeemed to flourish in hard times therefore my life shall be full of wonders. Amen and amen.
DAY 9 PRAYER GUIDELINES:
- Father, I receive grace to be focused this year, in Jesus name (Heb 12:2).
- Father, I ask that you lead me by the Holy Spirit not to miss my steps this year, in the name of Jesus (Rom 8:14).
- Father, we ask that you cause your word via Morning Tea Devotional to heal, deliver and save in all nations this year 2024 and beyond, in Jesus name (Lk 4:17-18)
- Ask God for other things (Phil 4:6).
