TEXT: “… And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles” (Acts 8:1)
As the Morning Tea Devotional Family navigates this month of June, our focus is on tapping into the Power of God to bring forth our dreams, visions, aspirations and all hidden potentials in our lives. We are diligently exploring the Scriptures to uncover the essential principles and practices that unlock this Power, trusting God to manifest His promises in our lives.
Let’s continue with the story of the early Church from the book of Acts!
The experience of the disciples in today’s anchor scripture teaches us that trials are not stumbling blocks, but stepping stones for God’s Power to manifest in our lives. That’s why James told us to ‘count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience’ (James 1:2-3).
The disciples’ unwavering commitment to their mission, even in the midst of fierce opposition, created a channel for God’s Power to flow throug Philip, teaching us that unwavering faith and perseverance are the keys that unlock the release of God’s Power.
Jesus promises that those who stand by Him through trials and challenges will be rewarded with a kingdom. Let’s read it: “Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me” ( Lk 22:28-29). To tap into this Power dear child of God, remain steadfast in your service to God no matter the circumstances. Persevere against all odds, keeping your focus on Him even in the most intense moments. The enemy will want to break your spirit, but refuse to yield. Endure and remain faithful, for this is the path to unlocking the Power of God.
Remember this; your struggles don’t have to dictate your story. Don’t give up on God or on your dreams, no matter how tough things get. I pray for you that God’s grace will sustain you, enabling you to stay committed to your purpose, even in the face of opposition and persecution, in the name of Jesus Christ.
