TEXT: “And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice” (John 10:4)
Repeat this prayer after me: “Father, I acknowledge that Your Word holds the power to transform lives. As I read today’s MTD, I ask that it transform my life and shape my destiny. By the Power in your Word, above only shall be my experience all through this month and onwards, in Jesus name – Amen.”
I cannot overemphasize that obedience to God’s instructions enables one to consistently live above only. However, how can one obey God if they don’t hear His voice? Many people struggle to access God’s voice today. As Pastor Benny Hinn rightly puts it, ‘It is not how loud God speaks that matters, but how well we listen.’
What are the keys to accessing the voice of God?
- Be Born Again. Only the redeemed have access to the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. “And He said to them, to you it has been given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all these things are done in parables” (Mark 4:11). It is not about your church attendance, activities, or position; if you are not born again, you remain a stranger and cannot gain access to God’s voice (John 3:3-5).
- The Fear God. If you desire to hear the voice of God, you must have the fear of God (Psalm 25:14). This fear is not about being afraid, but about having a deep reverence and respect for God. When you obey God willingly, you demonstrate your fear of Him. But when you start to rationalize or compromise God’s Word to fit human opinions, it shows that you don’t fear Him. Those who truly fear God are not moved by the fear of men and will stand firm in their faith. So, be careful not to let the fear of people silence God’s voice in your life.
- Be Humble. Psalm 25:4 says: “The meek will he guide in judgment; and the meek will he teach his way.” The level of your humility will determine the depth of God’s secrets you enjoy from Him.
PRAYER: From this day forward, you will always have access to God’s voice on every matter, in Jesus name.
