TEXT: “And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar” (Gen 8:20)

  • PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life into a better one, in Jesus name – Amen.”

We understand from Scripture that thanksgiving to God involves returning to Him with a token to express our gratitude. However, it goes beyond just a token to giving our best to God. We see this happened with Noah in today’s anchor scripture. Noah offered CLEAN ANIMALS to God in appreciation. Anyone with a genuine heart of gratitude will want to give his best to God in appreciation for the good things done for him.

In Gen 4:3-6, God accepted Abel and his offering but did not accept Cain and his offering. Why? Abel gave his best from his heart. So his person was first accepted, then his offering. Don’t take God for granted this season. My prayer is that you’ll gain acceptance in God’s Presence as you offer thanksgiving to Him this weekend, in Jesus name.

Everything God does for us, no matter how small, is a result of His grace. Most times, we don’t deserve these blessings. Therefore, the best way to respond is with the best token from the heart to Him.

Thanksgiving guarantees the release of God’s promises. As the year ends, there may be promises you’ve been believing God for that are yet to materialize. Engage heartily in this thanksgiving for their release. God is never late.

PRAYER: As you return with a token of thanksgiving this weekend, you’ll never experience downtime in life, in Jesus name.
