MTD ANNUAL 21 DAYS FAST (DAY 1)
TEXT: “And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about” (Matt 4:2, Luke 4:14)
- PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life into a better one, in Jesus name – Amen.”
As we begin our annual 21-day prayer and fasting today, it’s essential to understand what to expect from this spiritual exercise. This will help us approach it with utmost seriousness.
From Scripture, we understand that prayer and fasting is ordained for our empowerment. It empowers us for service. Pls note that if we will enjoy God’s rewards this year, we need to be empowered with the spirit of obedience. This will make obedience effortless even when it is not convenient.
This is our year of rewards and our unreserved obedience is vital to receiving these rewards (Gen 12).
We trust God also, for a new level of grace for effective service this year, which will attract the desired rewards. This prayer and fasting will empower us for this.
Therefore, as we engage in this prayer and fasting, we shall be empowered for delightsome obedience and effective service and our rewards shall manifest speedily, in Jesus name.
PROPHETIC PRAYER: Encounters that will facilitate your new level of grace for obedience and effective service this year is coming your way this season, in Jesus name.
TODAY’S PRAYER GUIDELINES:
- Father, thank you for the gift of life, in Jesus name (Psalm 150:6).
- Father, thank you for sustaining MTD and the Conveners by your grace, in Jesus name (1Cor 15:10)
- Father, thank you for empowering me with grace for kingdom service to the point of rewards this year, in Jesus name (Luke 22:28-29)
- Present your requests to God (Phil 4:6).
