VICTORY OVER SIN

APRIL PROPHETIC FOCUS:
“TOTAL VICTORY” (1Cor 15:57)

THURSDAY, 9TH APRIL 2026

By Pst Israel Olorunfemi

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace” (Rom 6:14)

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE:
“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Gal 5:16)

One of the greatest victories God has given us in Christ is victory over sin and the flesh. But, this is also one area where many believers still struggle secretly. Sometimes, it feels like you’re doing well, and then suddenly you fall back into something you thought you had overcome. It can be discouraging, I know.

But the Bible says: “Sin shall not have dominion over you.” That means sin may come, but it does not have the capacity to hold you down as a child of God. It cannot overcome you. Through Jesus, you have been given the power to say No to sin and Yes to righteousness. You are no longer a slave to your flesh, you have a new nature.

However, this victory becomes real in your daily life when you learn to walk in the Spirit (Gal 5:16). As you stay connected to God, through His Word, prayer, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, you begin to gain strength to overcome those struggles in your life.

It may not be easy, but don’t define yourself by your weaknesses. Define yourself by what Christ has done. You are not under the control of sin, you are under grace. And grace empowers you to live right.

So, don’t give up and don’t give in. You already have victory over those sinful habits, now walk in it.

PROPHETIC PRAYER:
Receive grace to overcome that struggle and sinful habit, in Jesus name.
