TEXT: “Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart” (Psalms 119:34)
Understanding they say, is the secret behind anything outstanding. I want to share with you this morning what thanksgiving is so that you can take advantage of it this season and onwards. Thanking God for what we have received is the key that unlocks the treasure chest of His yet-to-be-released blessings. It is the secret to experiencing the multiplication of His goodness in our lives.
Any time you desire a testimony in any area of your life, simply give thanks to God. Most of our blessings have been released during the MTD 14-day fast, but for them to materialize we must consciously do one thing, and that is to give God thanks.
WHAT IS THANKSGIVING?
- Thanksgiving is honouring God.
Honoring God through thanksgiving is a powerful way to invite His Presence and blessings into our lives. When we choose to focus on God’s goodness, even in the midst of challenges, we create a spiritual atmosphere that draws His favour towards us. I want you to remember that murmuring and complaining can drive you further away from God’s help, but gratitude and praise can bring you closer to His loving embrace. Encourage yourself with the consciousness of what God has promised you in His word. If you have not seen what you desire thank God He has not given you what you deserve.
Thanksgiving is the number one key to securing God’s blessing and retaining it. If you want to see the acts of God in your life, thank Him in a big way for the things you consider small. Pst David Oyedepo Jnr said: “What God gives to you first is not His best but a test to see whether you are ready for the next.”
God’s next miracle in your life is dependent on your gratitude for the previous ones. He requires us to acknowledge and thank Him for His previous miracles before releasing the next one. So beloved, take time to count your blessings, name them one by one, and watch how your gratitude unlocks the door to a greater wonders and miracles in your life.
