AUGUST PROPHETIC FOCUS:
(The Winning Wisdom – Prov 4:7)

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD… For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways” (Isaiah 55:8-9 Paraphrased)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, from your Word today, teach me your ways and help me to walk in them, in Jesus name – Amen.“
Let me start by saying that God’s methods of handling situations are often different from human methods because He sees what we cannot see. To walk in wisdom therefore, is to embrace God’s way of doing things, even when it does not agree with human reasoning.
Many people miss God’s best for their lives because they insist on doing things their own way. They prefer what is convenient rather than what God has instructed. But winning wisdom is laying hold on God’s ways and trusting that His way always leads to the best outcome.
The story of Naaman illustrates this clearly (Read 2 Kings 5:1-14). When he came to Elisha for healing from leprosy, he expected the prophet to perform a dramatic miracle. Instead, Elisha instructed him to wash seven times in the River Jordan. Naaman was offended because the instruction did not match his expectations. He almost walked away from his miracle until he humbled himself and obeyed. The moment he embraced God’s way, his flesh became completely whole.
Many times, God will lead us in ways that seem unusual or uncomfortable. Winning wisdom is choosing God’s way above our own ways. Those who trust His ways will never be put to shame because God’s way always leads to victory.
Please note that God’s ways are not discerned by the natural mind but by spiritual sensitivity. One of the most effective ways to develop this sensitivity is through prayer. That is why today’s prayer session is so important. As we pray together today, especially in the Holy Ghost, expect your spiritual perception to be sharpened to walk in God’s ways. This is the wisdom that produces lasting victory.
