ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: “Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a Sabbath day’s journey” (Acts 1:12)
PERSONAL PRAYER: “Father, thank you for the power in Your Word that transforms. May the Morning Tea Devotional today transform my life and destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Glory to God for an impactful program yesterday. God was mightily present in our midst. There shall be speedy manifestation of our testimonies, in Jesus name. Don’t miss the next edition.
There are secrets to experiencing the Power of God that I discovered from the book of Acts. Some scholars believe that the book of Acts should be called the Acts of the Holy Spirit because it demonstrates the Power of the Holy Spirit.
I would like to share with you some of the secrets to Power that I found in this book from today.
Let’s begin with Acts 1:8. Jesus said to the disciples: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” After Jesus ascended to heaven, the disciples took a notable step to obtain this promise. That’s secret No1 that I want to share with you. What was this step? They returned to Jerusalem.
This is a significant step in the school of Power. If you will flow in the Power of God, don’t overlook this step. Jerusalem symbolizes the house of God, which is the Presence of God. The disciples returned to God’s Presence, to the house of God, where they agonized for the baptism of Power. They didn’t return to their homes, the symbol of comfort. This brings to mind King David’s experience in Psalm 63:1.
Beloved, your environment determines the Power that works in you. Do you treat the house of God (Church) as a place to visit only when it’s convenient for you or a place you must be to flow in Power? Do you spend time in God’s Presence or you just rush in and rush out? To operate in Power like the disciples, return to His Presence and tarry there until you’re endued. Don’t abandon the Church. Make time daily to fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
Don’t get caught up in unprofitable activities. Return to the fellowship of God’s people, not to the wrong crowd that will lead you away from God. This is the secret of the apostles.
PROPHETIC PRAYER: Every manipulation of the devil to deny you God’s Power this month is terminated today, in Jesus name.
