TEXT: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matt 5:5)

OPENING PRAYER: “Father, I acknowledge that Your Word holds the power to transform lives. As I read today’s MTD, I ask that it transform my life and shape my destiny. Let my life be imparted by your Word, in Jesus name – Amen.”

As we conclude Morning Tea Devotional for August, our month of ‘Above Only’ today, let’s draw inspiration from Moses, the Biblical example of humility. Described as the meekest man who ever lived (Num 12:3), Moses’ story teaches us that meekness is a powerful force that attracts Presence of God. Meekness is referred to in scripture as ‘an ornament of great price’ (1Pet 3:4). Pride is a curse, but meekness brings blessing, why? God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (1Pet 5:5).

Beloved, you are ordained for the top. The day you were born again, you were a born king; you don’t have to live and die like a peasant. Instead, discover what it takes to get to the top and to remain there. My assignment today, is to let you know that a meek attitude is an ornament of a great price. It is your attitude that determines your altitude. It is meekness that determines one’s greatness in life.

As I said above, Moses is a Biblical example of meekness. Scripture describes him as the meekest man on earth (Num 12:3). I want us to examine how this trait played out in his life.

Moses’ meekness was evident when he humbly submitted to Jethro’s counsel, despite having experienced direct communication with God (Exo 18:17-24). Jethro, the priest of Midian and Moses’ father-in-law, served as his advisor, and Moses attentively listened and followed his guidance. That’s meekness.

The quality of your meekness determines the extent of your greatness in life. Jesus said, ‘Blessed are the meek!’ (Matt 5:5). Unfortunately, many people today have inflated egos, making it difficult for them to find stability in life. Moses exemplified meekness by seeking counsel from Jethro, despite his extraordinary assignment from God. Meekness was the foundation of Moses’ greatness.
