ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith” (Gal 5:22)
Today, let’s conclude our focus on the three manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit that we have considered in this series which are love, joy, and longsuffering.
Another word for longsuffering is patience. Patience is the ability to remain steadfast while waiting for God’s promises to come to pass. It is the ability to stay on course without giving up when things are not happening as fast as expected.
One of the greatest tests of our walk with God is the test of time. Many people can believe God for a day, a week, or even a month, but it takes the help of the Holy Spirit to keep believing when the wait seems long. It’s longsuffering that keeps us from becoming offended, weary in well doing, or discouraged.
The Holy Spirit understands that every believer will face seasons that require patience. Therefore, He works in us to develop spiritual stamina. He helps us to trust God when we do not understand His ways and to remain committed when the results are not yet visible.
Remember, every seed has a harvest season. Those who refuse to give up will always experience God’s faithfulness. Whatever God has promised, He is able to bring to pass. Our responsibility is to remain steadfast and keep walking with Him.
Beloved, do not allow delays to weaken your faith. Stay in love, stay joyful, stay committed, and stay connected to the Holy Spirit. In due season, your testimony will speak loud.
