SEPTEMBER PROPHETIC FOCUS:
(Holy Spirit, My Helper – John 14:16)

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” (Rom 14:17)
Having considered love, we shall today examine another fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22 which is joy.
Joy is one of the unmistakable evidences of the Holy Spirit at work in the life of a believer. Unlike happiness, which is dependent on circumstances, joy is rooted in our relationship with God. It is possible to face challenges and yet remain joyful because our confidence is in God and not in our circumstances.
The Holy Spirit is the source of true joy. That is why the Scripture speaks of “joy in the Holy Ghost.” When the Holy Spirit is at work in us, He fills our hearts with strength, hope, and confidence that produces joy even in difficult seasons.
One of the ways to know whether we are walking closely with the Holy Spirit is the level of our joy. The pressures of life may come, but don’t allow them to rob you of the joy in the Holy Ghost. Nehemiah 8:10 says: “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Therefore, joy is not a luxury for the believer; it is a source of spiritual strength.
Beloved MTDian, guard your joy jealously. Refuse to allow the happenings around you dictate the condition of your heart. Keep your fellowship with the Holy Spirit alive, for where the Spirit of God is at work, joy flourishes.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
I pray that the Holy Spirit fills your heart with joy and cause you to rise above every pressure, in Jesus name.
