TEXT: “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1John 1:5)
Beloved, if you will advance and make progressive progress this year and onwards, you must decide to settle with God who is not only the source of light but Light Himself. The meaning is that you must be ready to stay with God and focus on Him alone this year. You must be ready to say it’s either God or not at all. Alternative to God who is the Light is an invitation to live in darkness.
The Bible says: “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD” (Isaiah 31:1). You have run to other gods the reason why things run away from you. Running to God is running into light that brings good things of life. Only God has the solution to all challenges that you are going through right now. Only God! Many of your challenges today are as a result of the activities of darkness that you allowed by way of commission or omission. But when you run to God, the Light, He will make all the activities of darkness in your life to cease.
David said when my father and mother forsake me then shall the Lord take me up (Psalm 27:10). Only God alone can take you up beyond your widest imagination! He is the very Present Help in trouble. He is the One who can give you the advancement/promotion you desire this year. God is your final bus-stop. He doesn’t fail, He doesn’t disappoint, He does not refer your case to any man, all cases are referred to Him – Hallelujah! If you have come to Him, then make up your to settle with Him, don’t look here and there for other gods. Make your decision today whom you shall serve!
Joshua said: “And it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye shall serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15).
Beloved, God is the Light, in Him there is no darkness at all. When you run to Him, darkness and all its vices will leave you alone. Do away with that alternative gods in your life right now. Don’t give in to that devilish suggestion that you should visit one Baba who will give you something for your promotion. Settle with God who alone is the Light you need.
PRAYER: I pray for you today, every activity of darkness in your life, home, marriage, relationship, business and career is terminated today, in Jesus name.
