TEXT: “And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily…” (Luke 18:7-8)
Answer to prayer is the beauty of any prayer. One important step to answered prayer is Persistency of that prayer. If we will see answer to our prayer we must persist to the point of delivery of that answer. Prophet Daniel persisted on his prayer altar for twenty-one days. He did not give up praying until his answer came. (Dan 10:12). Many people today, mostly Christians are not like Daniel, they give up too soon. I encourage you this morning to stay on your prayer altar until your answers drop. Elijah on Mount Carmel persisted in prayer until rain came down (1Kings 18:41-46). You give up too soon and that’s why you don’t see answers to your prayers. Don’t quit praying simply because you haven’t seen answers you expected.
To persist is to hold firm. God wants us to hold firm to His promises while praying. He rewards persistence. The Judge in today’s anchor scripture responded to the widow’s request because she persisted. The judge says in verse 5: “Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming (persistence) she weary me.” Jesus concluded said: “I tell you that he (God) will avenge them (the elect that call Him day and night) speedily.”
Dear child of God, don’t let delay or disappointments cause you to give up praying. Keep asking until your answer is released (John 4:24). Most times, the greatest discouragement often comes just before the answer arrives. So, you must guard against discouragement and pray until you see your answer. It is often seems darkest before the dawn. Don’t give up praying, you’re closer than before.
PRAYER: There shall be harvest of answers to your prayers before this month is over, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2023, I am finally on a Covenant Highway, Jesus is giving me Answers and I am enjoying Rest Round About – Amen and Amen!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: “Pray and keep praying until your answer is released.”
