ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father” (John 10:18)

  • DAILY PRAYER: “Father, thank you for the transformative power of Your Word. Let your Word through the Morning Tea Devotional today transform my life and destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”

Beloved, God’s plan for us is to be fruitful and multiply (Gen 1:28). But there’s a condition to fruitfulness: seed must be planted. This is because a seed is needed to produce fruit. If you want to be fruitful, you must be willing to plant your seed. Until you do, you may never experience the dimension of fruitfulness God ordains for you.

The secret to a fruitful life is in laying down your life to God first. If you haven’t laid down your life for God, even if you lay down your means, it won’t guarantee fruitfulness. The Bible says that God accepted Abel’s offering because He first accepted Abel as a person (Gen 4:4). This shows that our sacrifices to God and His kingdom are only acceptable if we first surrender our lives to Him. Until you lay down your life, your seed won’t produce the desired fruit. Make up your mind to lay down your life for your Maker today.

Secondly, fruitfulness is tied to your willingness to lay down what’s most precious to you. Abraham waited 25 years for Isaac, the promised child. Isaac was the most precious thing in Abraham’s life. Yet, it wasn’t until Abraham was willing to lay Isaac on the altar that he received a sworn blessing from God (Gen 22). By being willing to let go of Isaac, Abraham received a blessing that still speaks today.

In today’s anchor scripture, Jesus said, “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.” Jesus’ sacrifice was a voluntary act, not forced upon Him. This teaches us that genuine fruitfulness requires a willingness to lay down what’s precious to us. Whether it’s our time, comfort, or resources, we must be willing to lay it down for God’s purposes.

Can you lay down what’s most precious to you, just like Abraham and Jesus did?

PROPHETIC PRAYER: Power to lay down your life and your things for your all round fruitfulness is coming upon you today, in Jesus name.
