TEXT: “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh…” (Psalm 2:4a)
- PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Laughter becomes a reality in your life when you realize you’re seated with Christ in heavenly places. The Bible says, ‘And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph 2:6). If you’re born again, you’re in Christ, seated in heavenly places. Those seated in heavenly places always experience joy unspeakable. It is this joy that naturally produces laughter irrespective of the situation one finds himself.
Abraham trusted God, despite the circumstances that surrounded his wife’s barrenness. At 99 years old, he still believed God would fulfill His promise (Rom 4:20-21). He did not stagger at the promise of God because he understood his position in God. With God as his focus, circumstances were secondary. Can that be said of you today?
Beloved, if you’re feeling sorrowful, it means you have left your heavenly position and the only way to experience laughter is to get back there. Sorrow is from hell. You must fight the good fight of faith until sorrow loses its hold on you. It is he that sitteth in heaven that shall laugh!
