TEXT: “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Rom 14:17)
- PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Today, I want us to examine righteousness as one of the keys to experiencing laughter. The Bible says, ‘he that sitteth in heaven shall laugh’ and today’s anchor scripture says heaven, which is the kingdom of God, is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. By reason of our righteousness in Christ, every addiction to sin is broken off your life this month, in Jesus name.
Pls, note that righteousness is not what you earn, it is a gift of God. It is not what you do that makes you righteous, but what you have become by redemption. You can be full of good deeds and still be unrighteous before God. Apostle Paul said: “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth” (Rom 10:2-4).
Righteousness is not your right doings, righteousness is your right being. When you are in Christ, you will definitely do right. Our righteousness is not based on what we do but on what Christ did for us on the Cross.
So, you can’t be righteous if you are not saved. It is salvation that qualifies you to be righteous before God and it’s righteousness that qualifies you for laughter.
If you’re not born again yet, today is your opportunity to do so, tomorrow might just be too late.
Pray this simple prayer of salvation:
“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I’m a sinner in need of your help. I repent of my sins. Come into my life and make me a new person. Thank you for saving me!”
