TEXT: “In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly” {Job 1:22}
Job’s life is a classic example of supernatural restoration. His captivity was turned around and he had double of what the devil stole from him (Read Job 42:10). But what were the secrets to his restoration? That is, how did he provoke his doublefold restoration? Some have been mentioned previously.
- HE WAS A LOVER OF GOD
Job was an addicted lover of God. His love for God did nkt diminish despite all his challenges. He never saw God as being wicked in spite of his predicament. It was his love for God that moved him to pray for friends (Job 42:10). The truth is that, when you genuinely love God, it will flow to all men, even to those who hurt you the most. It was after Job’s demonstration of love for God to his friends that God restored what he lost. Job was a lover of God and he showed it by praying for his friends. Your love for God is what determines your restoration dear child of God.
What else? Genuine love for God always has giving as proofs. Giving is one of the proofs of love. You cannot have true love for someone and not give to the person. So also, you cannot love God and not give to Him and for His kingdom’s work. Giving is a proof of your love for God. If you love God and His interest here on earth, you will give without being coerced to do so. It will be a thing of Joy to you to do so.
God first loved us and gave His only begotten Son for us. And He had promised that if He could give His only begotten Son then, there is nothing He cannot freely give to us (Rom 8:32). Love is a giver and if you truly love God it will show in your giving lifestyle. God expects you to give willingly, cheerfully and bountifully, but according to what you have and not what you don’t have (2Cor 9:6-7; 8:12). Giving is a test of the sincerity of your love.
PRAYER: My prayer for you today is that your love for God will wax stronger and stronger, in Jesus name.
