TEXT: “Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible” (Rom 12:18 – NLT)
OPENING PRAYER: “Father, I acknowledge that Your Word holds the power to transform lives. As I read today’s MTD, I ask that it transform my life and shape my destiny. By the Power in your Word, above only shall be my experience all through this month and onwards, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Let me start by saying that contention chokes the atmosphere, making it difficult for God to appear, as pointed out last Friday. Have you ever wondered why you’re always dissatisfied with those around you? Nothing anyone does seems to please you. You constantly find yourself quarreling over minor things people do, and this is slowly consuming you emotionally. You’ve come to realize that your life feels empty.
The reason, I would like to point out, is that you’re missing the peace of God within. Internal contention is the culprit. When you allow contention to reign inside, it blocks the divine Presence, leading to a lack of peace in your life.
Before you can live in peace with men, you must first make peace with God. Not being at peace with God makes it impossible for you to know true peace. The scripture reminds us that peace is a direct result of salvation, which comes through faith in Jesus Christ (Rom 5:1). Jesus Christ is the embodiment of peace, and reconciliation with God is only possible through Jesus’ sacrifice. No church denomination or spiritual title can replace the blood of Jesus in bringing us peace with God (Eph 2:13-14).
Beloved, Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is the only way to experience peace with God. Without peace with God, you’ll struggle to live in peace with others, particularly those whose beliefs and opinions differ from yours.
Without peace with God, your life will be marked by constant conflict and strife with people around you. But you can break free from this cycle today by surrendering your life to Jesus, and His peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your heart which will enable you to live in peace with those around you.
ACTION STEP:
Today, make a decision to surrender your life to Jesus and commit to living for Him wholeheartedly, in every aspect of your being – in your words, works, and actions.
