TEXT: “And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you” (Number 9:8).
The word of God is full of factors that guarantee all round rest. Remember, this year 2023 in the Morning Tea Devotional Family, is our year of All-Round Rest. One of the factors that guarantee all round rest is our ability to hear the voice of God. This is what brought us to how do we access the voice of God?
As I mentioned previously, if you will access the voice of God, you must come to God with songs of worship and you must approach Him with joy.
- CALM DOWN
Another factor that guarantees access to the voice of God is our ability to calm down. Moses gave an insight to this in the above anchor scripture when he told the children of Israel to be calm so he could hear from God. God speaks more often than not in a still small voice. So, it takes our calmness to hear His still small voice. To be calm is to be still, to be free from anxiety. To be calm in the face of challenges is a factor that guarantees undeniable testimonies – you know why? God will always give you His voice of direction when you’re calm.
Many are losing out daily because they are troubled. When you are troubled on the inside, you will lose focus on God and when you lose focus on God you will lose focus on His voice of direction. You will not be a victim, in Jesus name. You need to calm down.
Jesus says: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me” (John 14:1). I can assure you that your business, marriage, career, health, relationship, will not go down. So, learn to calm down in the midst of that storm. When you do, you will hear the next instruction from God.
When you are calm, God will show up for you. He said: “Be calm/still and you will know that I am God” (Ps 46:10). Isaiah also said: “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left (Isaiah 30:21). It takes calmness to hear the voice of God that comes from behind. Your testimony is sure even if it has not happened yet, but you need to calm down to hear a voice of direction from God.
PRAYER: I rebuke and cast out every spirit of anxiety in your life, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2023, I am finally on a Covenant Highway, Jesus is giving me Answers and I am enjoying Rest Round About – Amen and Amen!
