TEXT: “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21)
- PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life into a better one, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Divine direction simply means to go where God is directing you. As human beings we do not have precise details about where we ought to go, where we ought to be and what we ought to do, so, we need to be guided by God. To avoid frustration in life and destiny, we must deliberately choose to follow God’s leading.
Here are some of the benefits of divine direction as we prepare to enter the new year. It is vital we know these, it will help us to seek the face of God with all seriousness.
- ESCAPE FROM DANGER. God promises to protect you from harm and danger. There are certain paths in life that are not part of His plan for you. Some places and situations may not be safe or good for you, and could even put your life and future at risk.
But when you follow God’s guidance and direction, He will lead you to peaceful and safe places. He will take care of you and keep you away from harm, just like a shepherd leads his sheep to quiet and safe waters.
- ACCELERATED PROGRESS. The story of Abraham’s servant in Genesis 24:12-15 illustrates the power of accelerated progress in our journey. The servant prayed, “Lord…please grant me success today and show kindness to my master Abraham.” Before he finished praying, Rebekah appeared, and his mission was accomplished.
Accelerated progress makes you to achieve in a short time what would have taken much longer. It helps you to accomplish more in less time. This dimension of progress is your inheritance in Christ, and it’s available to you.
- GOD’S PROVISION & SUPPORT. When you follow God’s leading, you can be sure He will back you up. When you follow God’s vision, you can be sure of His provision.
God will support you as you follow His plans. It’s essential to remember this as we enter the new year.
- SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH. The Bible says in Isaiah 48:21 that God provided water for His people in the desert by making it flow from a rock. This is an example of supernatural breakthrough.
As you follow God’s leading in the coming year, expect these amazing experiences to unfold in your life.
