TEXT: “Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice” (Psalm 50:5)

Divine Presence is one of the proofs of divine visitation. The meaning is, a man who is visited by God has God’s tangible Presence in his life as an evidence. However, there are factors that help us to access the Presence of God. Let’s start with the Covenant of Sacrifice as pointed out by the Psalmist in today’s anchor scripture.

Everyone that ever commanded the attention of God in the Bible and in our world today did so on the platform of sacrifice. God’s abiding Presence in our life is a covenant. We have a part to play and until our part is played, God is not committed.

What is a Covenant? Bishop David Oyedepo defined a covenant as a deal enacted by God based on well-defined terms and sealed with an oath. Sacrifice on the other hand is going beyond your best to please God. It is not just giving your best, doing your best, praying your best, but going beyond your best that makes up a sacrifice.

Solomon understood this key. He to gave God what no one had ever given before him and after him till date. His sacrificial giving triggered the Presence of God that led to his encounter with God and God gave him not only what he wanted but all he needed (1King 3:3-15). This shall be your testimony before the year is over in Jesus name.

Noah gave to God a sacrifice that is beyond his best. He offered to God the clean animals (Gen 8:20-22). He could have offered the unclean animals, after all, it was in his power to do so but, he offered to God clean animals. This triggered a vow from God.

“And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done” (Gen 8:20-21).

Sacrifice will eternally be relevant in the kingdom. It shows our love for God in action. I encourage you today to offer your best of time, money, materials, talent, gift, etc, to God and for the furtherance of the gospel and you are on key to enjoying the continuous Presence of God!

Rise up now and act!
