Serving God and the interests of His Kingdom is key to greatness. However, to receive the rewards of your service, you must serve God acceptably.
3. One way to serve God accetably is love. When you’re deeply in love with God, you’ll be motivated to serve Him without hesitation. This is because God is love (1John 4:8), and He desires that our service to Him be driven by love. He wants us to love Him with the same intensity that He loves us. He demonstrated His love by giving His only Son to redeem us. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was a manifestation of God’s love for humanity.
The life of Christ and ministry also demonstrated His love for God and for humanity. This compelled Him to sacrifice His life for our salvation. (John 15:13). As followers of Christ, we are called to follow His example by serving God in love.
To make your service acceptable to God to the point of rewards, let love be your motivation. This is crucial because service without love is meaningless. Many people start out with enthusiasm, but their commitment fades when challenges arise. This is often because their service lacks the foundation of love.
King Solomon said: “Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it” (Song 8:7). This means that no matter what challenges you face while serving God, your love for Him will sustain you. This was proven by Job. Despite the devil’s relentless attacks, Job remained steadfast (Job 19:25). His steadfast love for God despite challenges was rewarded with double of what he lost.
PROPHETIC PRAYER: I pray for you today that your love for God be the driving force behind all you do, thereby experiencing open rewards for your service, in Jesus name.
