TEXT: “If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19)
Start today’s MTD with this prayer: “Father, I acknowledge that Your Word holds the power to transform lives. As I read today’s MTD, I ask that it transform my life and shape my destiny. By the Power in your Word, above only shall be my experience all through this month and onwards, in Jesus name. Amen.”
Please note that to achieve outstanding results in this kingdom, understanding is crucial. Merely applying kingdom principles is inadequate; you must also possess the knowledge of how to apply them correctly. Many people know what to do, but lack the knowledge of how to do it. Therefore, obedience alone is not enough; you must also know how to obey.
For your obedience to be acceptable unto God, it must be:
- PROMPT (Matt 8:21-22)
Obedience to instructions is only counted as such when it is prompt and timely. Jesus’ response to His disciple in the quoted verses above implies that ‘Delayed obedience is equivalent to disobedience.’ Abraham was a timely obedient servant of God. When God told him to sacrifice his only son, the Bible said that: “Abraham ROSE EARLY IN THE MORNING and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son…” (Gen 22:2-3). Every instruction from God comes with a divine timeline. Obey Him at His appointed time, not according to your own schedule or convenience. - COMPLETE (Phil 2:5-11)
In our walk with God, complete obedience is the key to success. If you will walk with God, then you must be prepared to obey Him completely. If you decide to obey some instructions, delay in obeying some or even discard some others, you will definitely have problems with God. King Saul is a perfect example of this (1Sam 15:16-24). From his experience, we can see that partial obedience is the same thing as full disobedience before God.
ACTION STEP:
Seek God’s mercy and forgiveness for the areas where you have failed to obey His instructions. Take immediate action to make things right, turning away from disobedience and towards a path of obedience and surrender to His will.
PRAYER: I pray that the grace of God will empower you to obey Him fully and without delay, that you may walk in the fullness of His blessings, in Jesus name.
