A RENEWED MINDSET

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Rom 12:2)

Beloved, in the journey of life, your mindset determines your level of progress. Every progress God brings you into requires a renewed way of thinking. The journey of the children of Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land is a clear picture of this. Though God brought them out of Egypt physically, Egypt never left their minds. They had left slavery, but slavery had not left them. This was why, in the face of challenges, they kept longing to go back.

They saw God demonstrating His Power in delivering them from captivity, but that didn’t change their mindset. When they saw the giants in the land, they said, “We were like grasshoppers in our own sight” (Num 13:33). The problem was not the giants, it was their perception/mindset.

Only Joshua and Caleb had the mindset for progress. They saw the same land, the same giants, but responded differently. God had already prepared the Promised Land, but a whole generation could not enter because their thinking never left Egypt.

This is why today’s anchor scripture says: “Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” Hear me beloved, progress demands a conscious disconnection from the past. You cannot step into what God is doing next if your mind is still on what used to be. Apostle Paul says: “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before” (Phil 3:13).

You must deliberately let go of past experiences, past fears, and even past successes, so you can fully embrace what is ahead. The supporting scripture says: “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom 12:2). Your mindset needs to change, to experience change.

So, stop thinking like where you are coming from. Start thinking like where God is taking you. Your promised land (advancement) is ready, but your mindset must be ready too.

PROPHETIC PRAYER:
Your mind will not hold you down any more, in Jesus name.
