SEPTEMBER PROPHETIC FOCUS:
(Holy Spirit, My Helper – John 14:16)

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” (Gal 5:22)
SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE:
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” (Matt 22:37)
Beloved, the fruit of the Spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22-23 comprises nine virtues that define the character of a Spirit-filled believer. These virtues are produced by the working of the Holy Spirit. We shall focus our attention on the three of them, that is, love, joy, and longsuffering.
Today, we begin with love.
Love comes first because it is the bedrock of our relationship with God. When you genuinely love God, you will delight in His Word, value His presence, and find joy in obeying His commands. It is the Holy Spirit who nurtures and sustains this love in our hearts. That is why it’s called the Fruit of the Spirit.
Our love for God will also be reflected in our commitment to His Kingdom. It is impossible to truly love God and remain unconcerned about the things that concern Him. As the Holy Spirit works in us, He gives us a passion for Kingdom advancement and a willingness to invest our time, energy, and resources in God’s work.
In the same way, our love for God will be evident in our relationship with others. It’s the Holy Spirit that enables us to be kind, patient, forgiving, and be genuinely interested in the well-being of those around us. The proof of our love for God is not merely in what we say but in how we live.
As we continually yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, our love for God grows stronger and finds expression in our commitment to His Kingdom and our love for others. If you are reading this today and these realities are not yet evident in your life, make it a matter of prayer. Ask God to fill you afresh with His Spirit and empower you to walk in the fullness of His love.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
I pray that the Holy Spirit will cause the love of God to abound in your heart this month and onwards, in Jesus name.
