AUGUST PROPHETIC FOCUS:
(The Winning Wisdom – Prov 4:5-7)

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night… for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Joshua 1:8 – Paraphrased)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, open my understanding to your Word and give me the grace to apply it in every area of my life, in Jesus name – Amen.”
A clear understanding of divine wisdom is the first step to walking in it. Many people assume that wisdom is simply having knowledge or being highly educated. While knowledge is important, it is not the same as wisdom. A person can know the Scriptures and still make wrong decisions because wisdom is more than knowing God’s Word; it is applying His Word to the issues of life.
What is Wisdom? My father, Bishop David Oyedepo defines wisdom as the correct application of Scriptures to the issues of life. It is allowing God’s Word to guide your thoughts, words, decisions, relationships, and response to challenges. The Word of God contains answers to every issue of life, but those answers only become realities when the Word is applied.
Joshua is a clear example of this. When he succeeded Moses, God did not give him military or political strategies. Instead, as seen in today’s anchor scripture, He instructed Joshua to meditate on His Word continually and to carefully obey everything written in it. Joshua followed God’s instructions, and as a result, he led Israel into the Promised Land with remarkable victories. His success was not based on human strategies but on the practical application of God’s Word.
Many people today admire God’s blessings but ignore His instructions. They desire the results of God’s Word without living by the Word. Every instruction from God is an invitation to be blessed. Whenever you choose to obey the Scriptures instead of your feelings or human opinions, you are walking in wisdom. This is the kind of wisdom that guarantees all-round victory and lasting success.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
As you put God’s Word into practice, every area of your life shall begin to reflect success, in Jesus name.
