TEXT: “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ” (Col 3:23-24)
- PRAYER: “Father, thank you for the transformative power of Your Word. Let your Word via today’s Morning Tea Devotional transform my life and destiny, in Jesus name. Amen.”
In the MTD Family, the Prophetic Focus for this month is: “Serving God Engenders Open Rewards.” We have established, with the help of the Holy Spirit, that the primary reason we are saved is to serve God. We are not saved just to claim God’s blessings, but to serve Him so that we can attract His blessings.
God does not call us to serve Him in vain. He is a faithful Rewarder who rewards His faithful servants. The Bible says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Heb 11:6). God is a faithful Rewarder.
However, not every service rendered is acceptable before God. There are ways to serve God acceptably, and we will explore these from today.
- Your service to God must be from the heart for it to be rewarded (Read the anchor scripture again). The Bible also says: “But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Joshua 22:5).
God rewards service rendered from the heart, because that is where He looks. God looks not only at what is done, but also at the heart behind what is done. If your heart is right, your service to God will be right.
The enemy always fights the heart of every believer, because that is the core of the person, where God looks to determine if his service is reasonable or not. So, whatever you do, whatever service you render to God, whether sharing the Word of God through MTD with your friends and loved ones, or supporting the work of God with your means, let it come from the heart. Do it as unto the Lord, and your rewards will be visible for all to see this year, in Jesus name.
PROPHETIC PRAYER: Your labour for God this year shall not be in vain, in Jesus name.
