TEXT: “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb 12:2)
- PRAYER: “Father, thank you for the transformative power of Word. Let your Word via today’s Morning Tea Devotional transform my life and and shape my destiny, in Jesus name. Amen.”
Alternatives to God’s plan and timing is a demonstration of lack of trust and confidence in His capability. King Ahaziah paid darely for this (Read 2kings 1:2-4).
God wants to be your plan A-Z. He wants to be the only One on your consideration list. He categorically told Moses that “Thou shall have no other gods before me” (Exo 20:3)
Beloved, if you think God cannot handle your situation, it’s time to take your eyes off Him completely. God won’t force Himself on you if you only consider Him an option.
The truth is, you can’t focus on two destinations. Seeking answers from God while pursuing alternatives is double mindedness. The Bible makes it clear that such person cannot receive anything from God (James 1:7-8).
Pressure inevitably comes at some points in our journey in life. The weight of the things we carry can at times appear to be beyond us. This pressure sometimes cloud our vision of God and tempt us to consider alternative solutions. Beloved, guard yourself against this.
“They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed” (Psalm 34:5). Trust God, you will not be ashamed. Remember, God’s ways are not our ways, and His timing may not be ours. But if you patiently wait on Him without having an alternative way out, He will prove Himself faithful and avert the impending shame.
PROPHETIC PRAYER: Receive grace to be steadfast in looking unto Jesus. That shame will not come, in Jesus name.
