TEXT: “His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” (Matt 25:23)
Repeat this prayer after me: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Another enemy of divine lifting I want us to examine today is unfaithfulness. Your faithfulness with what you currently have determines your next level. Before God gives us something big, He often gives us something small to test our faithfulness. Every provision from God serves as a test of our faithfulness.
For instance, if you receive a financial blessing, God observes how you use it. He watches you to see whether you’ll support the gospel, care for the needy, honour your parents or squander it on personal indulgences. Mismanaging this blessing may jeopardize your future blessing. Your faithfulness in small incomes determines how you’ll handle larger ones.
I always give back to God and help those in need around me whenever I receive a financial blessing, no matter how small it is. Even if it’s as small as a thousand naira, it must leave me to somebody who’s in need of it. I do this to secure God’s continuous favour on my life and ministry.
Another example is David. His remarkable journey displays God’s commitment to lifting the faithful. As a young shepherd, David diligently protected his father’s flock, battling lions and bears all alone, demonstrating faithfulness that caught God’s attention. His faithful lifestyle propelled him to conquer Goliath even when others were hiding in fear (1Sam 17).
God observed David’s willingness to risk his life for his father’s sheep and knew he would do the same for His people as king. Unlike those who offer mere eye service, David demonstrated genuine faithfulness, which is what God wants from us.
Beloved, God rewards faithfulness, not eye service. As a faithful God that He is, He promises to lift anyone who is faithful with and in little things. I admonish you this morning to remain faithful to God’s assignment for your life, and He will honour your faithfulness with next level promotion.
