TEXT: “And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever” (1Chro 28:9)
OPENING PRAYER: “Father, I recognize the transformative power of your Word. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, I ask that your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
I want to remind you this morning that nothing in this world is as rewarding as serving God wholeheartedly, it pays both in this life and in eternity (1Tim 4:8).
Also know that serving God demands integrity, even when others around you compromise. No matter the challenges, trials, or persecutions you face, remain committed to doing what is right. God will ultimately vindicate and deliver you in His perfect timing.
The Bible says: “Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shall be fed. Delight yourself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart” (Psalms 37:1-4).
Some people today live carelessly and act recklessly without the consciousness of God, thinking they can succeed without God. However, Psalm 127:1 says: “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” Beloved child of God, serve God with all your life, and all that troubles you will disappear one by one!
However, serving God acceptably demands certain qualities. Let’s examine another one today.
- WILLINGNESS. If your service to God will attract rewards, serve Him willingly. King David was admonishing Solomon his son in today’s anchor scripture said: “And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts:..” (1Chro 28:9). Willingness in service is the requirement to see returns of God’s blessing for our service.
Don’t allow God to notice any attitude of reluctance in your service to Him. Don’t drag your feet in the things of God. With God, actions are weighed. Don’t wait for any external motivation to do what is right for God and His work. God is watching all you do for Him. If you serve with a grumbling attitude, your service is wasted. Let the devil know that no one is pressuring you to serve God.
However, serving God acceptably provokes His abundant provision. As we surrender to His service, He meets our needs according to His riches in glory (Phil 4:19). When you obey God by serving Him, He will bestow His blessings on you.
PRAYER: Grace to live for God and to serve Him to the point of rewards is released on you today, in Jesus name.
