TEXT: “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures” (Job 36:11)

OPENING PRAYER: “Father, I recognize the transformative power of your Word. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, I ask that your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”

As I mentioned yesterday, faithful service to God comes with numerous benefits. Serving God and advancing His kingdom guarantees unmatchable blessings. The truth is, no organization or government can match the rewards that serving God offers.

Please note that only those in active service are eligible for rewards. If you are not in active service to God and the interest of His kingdom, the rewards that are destined for those who are may never become a reality in your life. You need to get busy for God as God’s kingdom is the kingdom for active people. Serving God involves the engagement of our spirit, soul and body in promoting the kingdom of God on earth. It is the use of our strength, time, talent and resources to see the kingdom of God expands that comprises service to God.

When you serve the interest of God, God will serve your own interests too. God does not use someone without adequate compensation for the service rendered. Serving God is not to punish us but to furnish our destiny.

Your service to God must possess this quality, in addition to what we examined yesterday.

  1. SACRIFICIAL. Your service to God must have the quality of sacrifice for it to attract unmatched rewards. This is one of the things that makes many people change their mind when they discover the real meaning of sacrifice. Sacrifice takes away something so dear to you. It makes you feel a vacuum inside of you but it returns joy and happiness afterward. Sacrifice can be defined as “the act of giving up something that you want to keep, especially in order to get something else or to help.” We must learn to sacrifice our time, talents, finances, energy and everything we have for the expansion of the Kingdom of God. Sacrifice will take something away from you but, what really matters is the rewards you will get in return.

Morning Tea Devotional is one of my sacrifices for the Kingdom of God and this has been so for more than 11 years now. I am consciously uncomfortable in my bed from 1:00am everyday, just to see that the word of God goes out. All glory to God who enables me by His Spirit. You see, the point is, sacrifice will make you forget your comfort zone; it must surely take away something from you.

Serving God gives us access to supernatural breakthrough. If you think your life is useless, give it to God to use and it will not remain useless. Jesus took Peter’s useless boat and handed Peter a useful and rewarding breakthrough in business (Lk 5:1-8). Everyone serving God is entitled to breakthrough in all their endeavours.

PRAYER: As you engage in profitable service to God from today, you shall enjoy all round breakthrough this month and onwards, in Jesus name.
