(MTD 14-DAY PRAYER & FASTING – DAY 5)
TEXT: “And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? (Prayer) And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all (Answer)” (1Sam 30:8 – My emphasis)
One of the steps that guarantee outstanding testimonies is prompt obedience to instructions from God. When you pray and God gives instructions in answer to your prayer, obey quickly. There is no point praying concerning any situation when you are not ready to act on what God commands you to do. David in today’s anchor scripture enquired from the Lord (prayed) and promptly acted on the instruction God gave him. In verse 9, the Bible says: “And David went…” and the battle was won. Mary, the mother of Jesus told the servants, “Whatsoever He tells you, do it” (John 2:5). Be ready to obey God’s instructions if you will have outstanding testimonies this month.
However, prayer and fasting guarantees fulfilment of prophecies (Read 1Kings 18:41-44). We pray and fast prophecies to speedy fulfilment. There are certain oppositions to fulfillment of prophecies that will never surrender except by prayer and fasting (Matt 17:21). Elijah spoke as he was commanded by God, yet, he did not wait for the prophetic word to fulfill itself. He engaged in spiritual warfare for its fulfilment (1Kings 18). I pray for you today, as you partake in this 14-day prayer and fasting, every yet-to-fulfil good prophesy released on you shall find speedy fulfillment, in Jesus name.
DAY 5 PRAYER GUIDELINES:
- Father, in the name of Jesus, I declare that before this fasting program is over, my testimony will manifest (mention it).
- Father, let souls be won and established via MTD this second half of the year, in Jesus name.
- Present any other request to God now.
