TEXT: “And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar” (1Kings 3:4)
OPENING PRAYER: “Father, I recognize the transformative power of your Word. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, I ask that your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Now, let’s look at how to attract God’s blessing. From scriptures, we find a principle that shows us that to make the greatest gains or profits, either spiritually or physically, we must be willing to make sacrifices to God in the physical. These may include our possessions, our time, our money, convenience, our comforts, or relationships that prioritize God’s place in our lives. We must know that sacrificing our things to God and for the sake of His kingdom is a requirement. However, often times we look at what we stand to lose rather than what we have to gain. The Bible says:
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Rom 8:18).
Today’s anchor scripture tells us how God blessed Solomon with wisdom and wealth after giving a thousand burnt offerings to God. In response, God gave Solomon a blank cheque, saying, ‘Ask what I shall give thee’ (1Kings 3:5). This illustrates that sacrifice attracts God’s blessing. A fundamental principle is that whenever you make a sacrifice for God’s work, it captures God’s attention, and He rewards you with a blessing that exceeds your sacrifice (see Luke 6:38).
The Bible states in verse 5 of today’s anchor scripture that God appeared to Solomon and asked him to present his desires. What a blessing it is for the Owner of heaven and earth to ask you to present your heart’s desires! Solomon’s sacrifice was rewarded with wisdom, riches, and honour exceeding his requests. This illustrates that sacrifice attracts blessings beyond what we ask for.
As seen in Solomon and Noah’s stories, giving to God’s kingdom attracts a release of desires, reverses curses, and brings supernatural breakthrough. Make a sacrificial offering today and you shall experience God’s favour like never before in your life.
Are you ready to obey this instruction? Pray this prayer: “Heavenly Father, I offer this sacrifice unto You, trusting in Your promise to bless those who give. Reverse every curse, and pour out Your blessing upon me. May my sacrifice bring glory to Your name, in Jesus name.”
