TEXT: “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” (Heb 6:12; 10:36)
The word that is out of many people’s dictionary today is patience. We are too in a hurry. We desire to have things and it must be now! Some call it faith, but beloved, it is not faith. If indeed you have faith, you will be patient with God over some things in your life. Why do I said so? Patience is one of the attributes of faith. The Bible says “…he that believeth shall not make haste” (Isaiah 28:16b). When you see yourself being anxious over any issue of concern, check it, your faith is under attack.
In our world today, many said they are waiting on God and at they same time they are not patient. To wait and to be patient are two different things. Patience is not the ability to wait but it is the ability to have a positive attitude while waiting. David said “I waited patiently on the LORD, and He inclined to me…” (Ps 40:1). The meaning is that your waiting must have a trait of patience for God to incline (answer) you.
Read the MSG translation below:
“Meanwhile, friends, wait patiently for the Master’s Arrival. You see farmers do this all the time, waiting for their valuable crops to mature, patiently letting the rain do its slow but sure work. Be patient like that. Stay steady and strong. The Master could arrive at any time. Friends, don’t complain about each other. A far greater complaint could be lodged against you, you know. The Judge is standing just around the corner. Take the old prophets as your mentors. They put up with anything, went through everything, and never once quit, all the time honoring God. What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You’ve heard, of course, of Job’s staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That’s because God cares, cares right down to the last detail” (James 5:8-11 MSG).
When you sow your seeds, the attitude you put up while waiting for harvests is a direct product of your patience or impatience and this will determine when your harvests will come. Don’t let impatience rob you of your increase.
PRAYER: No trick of the devil will deprive you of your supernatural increase this month, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2023, I am finally on a Covenant Highway, Jesus is giving me Answers and I am enjoying Rest Round About – Amen and Amen!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: “Patience is your ability to put up right attitude while waiting.”
