21-DAY PRAYER & FASTING (DAY 10)
(Check the prayer guidelines below)
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting” (Matt 17:21).
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, let your Word today transform me to a better version of me, in Jesus name – Amen.“
Another important approach that makes prayer and fasting effective is prayer itself. This is so important. Quite a number of people go through periods of fasting without deliberately setting aside time to pray. They stay away from food, yet stay away from prayer. When prayer is separated from fasting, it loses its spiritual value and simply becomes what can be described as a hunger strike.
Beloved, fasting is not meant to replace prayer; it is meant to strengthen it. Prayer is the channel through which we communicate with God, pour out our hearts, and receive direction. Fasting only helps to quiet the flesh so that our spirit can be more sensitive to God’s voice. When prayer is missing, fasting loses both meaning and impact.
Today’s anchor scripture indicates that prayer must accompany fasting for it to be effective. Jesus said that certain spiritual matters only bow to fasting and prayer, not fasting alone. When we fast and truly pray, we secure divine intervention.
So, in this period of fasting, be deliberate about praying. Set aside time to talk with God, to listen to Him to pick instructions for your next-level breakthrough.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
You will return with testimonies today as you pray, in Jesus name.
