TEXT: “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever” (2Cor 9:8-9)
Motive is a vital factor in receiving anything from God. When your motive is wrong, your prayers will be wrong. Today, let’s look at the purpose why God increases His children spiritually, physically, financially and materially.
First and foremost person I want you to know that it is the will of God for you not only to have things you need but to also have them in abundance. Jesus said I come that they might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). There is a purpose for this abundant life. Don’t let the devil deceive you that it is a sin for you to have abundance of things. Poverty is a curse of the law and Jesus Christ came to redeem us from the curse of the law (Gal. 3:13). So we’re free to enjoy the blessing of Abraham. God doesn’t have problem in blessing us abundantly if we know the purpose for His blessing.
You must align your motive with God’s Word. Your motive for increase should not be to make yourself a name or to brag and oppress people. When your motive is to affect the Kingdom of God and humanity, I can assure you God will open the heaven over you for the release of abundance of good things.
Whatever you have that you cannot give for the sake of kingdom’s work or for the lifting of another is a trick of the devil to deprive you of the increase God has reserved for you. When you disperse, you will increase. What you keep has the tendencies of keeping you down. Rise up and be a blessing to someone today.
