ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands” (2Tim 1:6)
Today is our Weekly Tongues of Fire. Unfortunately, many believers have neglected prayer because of their busy schedules and daily demands. The truth is, prayer is one of the most important spiritual exercises that helps us grow in our relationship with God.
One of the ways we stir up the gifts and graces of God in our lives is through prayer. Just as fire becomes stronger when it is fanned, our spiritual lives are on fire when we spend time praying, especially in the Holy Ghost.
Many believers desire spiritual growth and greater sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, but beloved, these things don’t happen automatically. Prayer creates an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit to work in us and through us. The more we pray, the more spiritually alive and empowered we become.
This is one of the reasons we gather every Friday as a Devotional Family for 30 minutes of prayer. It is a time to stir up our spirits, set our hearts on fire, build our faith, and allow the Holy Spirit to refresh and strengthen us.
