ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalm 100:4)
OBJECTIVE:
“The aim of this message is to help MTDians recognize thanksgiving as a weapon of victory.”
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, thank you for today’s MTD. Let your Word minister to my needs, in Jesus name – Amen.“
One of the secrets to overcoming life’s challenges is thanksgiving. This is because thanksgiving is the gateway to God’s Presence (as revealed in today’s anchor scripture), and God’s Presence guarantees victory at all times (Psalm 97:5).
So, what is thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is the intentional act of recounting God’s past deeds in our lives. There is a need for us to look back and bless the Lord for the blessings, mercies, and victories we enjoyed throughout 2025, so we can secure greater testimonies in 2026.
To cultivate a lifestyle of thanksgiving, we must learn from David in Psalm 103 by first focusing on spiritual blessings rather than material things. Count your blessings like healing, divine health, forgiveness, protection, preservation, divine guidance, etc. One major reason people struggle with gratitude is that their attention is fixed only on material things.
Thanksgiving is also stirred when we compare where we are now with where we used to be. You may not be where you desire to be yet, but you are certainly not where you used to be. You may not have everything you want, but God has not treated you according to what you deserve. The Bible says: “If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?” (Psalm 130:3). Truly, God has been good to us all.
God’s goodness is not dependent on external circumstances. Whether you are promoted or not, God remains good. I admonish you again to use the remaining days of this year to give quality thanks to God for all the blessings and victories of 2025. As you do, you will secure His Mighty Hand for 2026.
