TEXT: “And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat” (1Kings 19:3, 5)
Blessed morning to you today, in Jesus name. We shall continue today on how to deal with delays in life and destiny. Today’s anchor scripture says that Elijah got to Beer-sheba and left his servant there. While studying this portion of the Bible, the word: “and left his servant there” caught my attention.
There are some things in our lives that cause delay and until they are identified and dealt with, miracle will just be a mirage. The Bible says we should lay aside every weight…and run with patience the race that is set before us (Heb 12:1). You can’t carry weight and expect God to work in your life.
Somebody you are reading this MTD today, the only reason why that delay is still there is because of that ungodly relationship you are yet to leave. The unforgiveness, the hatred, the sinful habit, that envy, that infidelity, the drunkenness, etc, is the reason why your answer has not come. Yes, the people you associate with or those you call your friends are the reason behind your delay. Beloved, you must let go of some relationships, habits or lifestyle to let God into your life.
Wrong association will corrupt you. You must avoid relationship that is affecting your standing with God. I can’t imagine a child of God will have an unbeliever as his/her best friend, how do you flow together? Unbelieving friends care less about meeting God’s expectations; they also care less about any eternal consequence that is attached with a sinful act; and you call them friends?
Elijah left his servant behind and he got the answer he needed from God. There are several other examples in the Bible. For instance, Abraham left his servants behind before getting to the place of sacrifice (Gen 22:5). Jacob was left alone and the Angel of God showed up (Gen 32:24-28).
Don’t let those ungodly friends, that ungodly relationship, bad attitude or sinful lifestyle keep you down. Make a decision to separate from them today and God will show up for you.
PRAYER: Grace to know and to let go of what is causing your delay is yours today, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2023, I am finally on a Covenant Highway, Jesus is giving me Answers and I am enjoying Rest Round About – Amen and Amen!
