TEXT: “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee” (Exo 23:25)

  • PRAYER: “Father, thank you for the transformative power of Your Word. Let today’s Morning Tea Devotional transform my life and and shape my destiny, in Jesus name. Amen.”

The primary reason for our redemption is to serve God. This fundamental truth is essential for all MTDians to understand. God’s plan of salvation is not just about rescuing us from sin, but also about recruiting us to serve Him and the interest of His Kingdom here on earth. That is why He didn’t take us to heaven the day we were saved.

Jesus said: “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John 15:16). Our redemption is not just about personal salvation, but also about becoming fruitful and influencing our generation for God.

One of the most beautiful aspects of serving God is that He takes full responsibility for our live as we commit to serving Him.

Serving God is: “Doing His will.” The Bible says this concerning Jesus: “And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done” (Luke 22:41-42). This is a practical demonstration of serving God. Jesus surrendered His will to God’s will. We are not said to be serving God if our will conflicts with His will.

Man is naturally selfish, he thinks of himself before anything else. But if you will enjoy open rewards from God this year, you must be willing to surrender your will to His will. You must be ready to say to God, like Jesus, “Not my will, but yours be done.”

PROPHETIC PRAYER: Grace to surrender to God’s will is yours today and always, in Jesus name.

If Morning Tea Devotional has been a blessing to you, we’d love to celebrate God’s goodness with you!
