TEXT: “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran” (Gen 12:1&4)
OPENING PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Let me start by saying that obedience is the gateway to experiencing lifting. However, I must emphasize that it’s not just obedience that yields results, but timely obedience. It takes a person who is empowered by the spirit of obedience to promptly respond to God’s instructions without hesitation or negotiation. May this spirit enter into you as you read on, in Jesus name. This was the case with Abraham.
Beloved, delayed obedience equals disobedience. The reason many Christians are challenged today is largely because of delayed obedience. Too much procrastination has crippled many destinies today. We always want to weigh God’s instructions with our head – It doesn’t work that way. Our timely response to God’s instructions is non-negotiable as every instruction from Him is a test. “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt (test) Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am” (Gen 22:1).
Every instruction from God is a test, you either obey right there and then or it’s considered as disobedience. Obedience does not work at any time, it demands promptness (Lk 19:44). Timely response to divine instructions is a fundamental requirement for our lifting. It is our act of obedience to God that changes us from one level to another. Every instruction is God’s secret agenda for our lifting.
Are you responding promptly to God’s instructions? If you are not, ask God to help you by His Spirit and pick up that instruction now.
PRAYER: I pray for the release of grace on your life not to just obey God but to obey Him promptly from now on, in Jesus name.
