ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David” (Psalm 89:34-35)
- PERSONAL PRAYER: “Father, thank you for the power in Your Word that transforms. May the Morning Tea Devotional today transform my life and destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
To gain victory over the battles of life, as discovered from the story of David and Goliath, you need to look at every situation you find yourself from a positive perspective, engage the battle with the tool God gave you, and take a clue from your past victories. Now, the question is, have you applied any of these lessons to your present situation? Until you apply the Word, it will not benefit you.
What more can we learn?
- Approach the Situation with Covenant Mindset. One of the secrets that enabled David to defeat Goliath was that he approached him with covenant mindset. Look at what he said: “What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1Sam 17:26).
David addressed Goliath as the uncircumcised Philistine, indicating that Goliath has no covenant right to challenge the army of Israel. Although all Israelites were God’s covenant people, the army of Israel failed to act as one. Likewise, every believer in Christ has a covenant right to health, long life, prosperity, joy, peace, etc., but how many look at their situations with this mindset?
These Israelite soldiers were looking at Goliath and not at God’s promises. They only saw the giant, but David kept his attention on the promises of God. Are you facing your own giants right now? Whatever problem you’re facing, whether in your finances, health, marriage, or wherever, your problem is not bigger than the covenant keeping God. Just remember David’s secret to his victory over Goliath – he approached the situation with covenant mindset.
By recognizing your covenant rights and focusing on God’s promises, I can assure you, victory over your own giant situations is guaranteed this month.
PROPHETIC PRAYER: By the covenant in the blood of Jesus, you are declared victorious over that challenge, in Jesus name.
