ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: “So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David” (1Sam 17:50)

  • PERSONAL PRAYER: “Father, thank you for the transformative power of Your Word. Let your Word through the Morning Tea Devotional today transform my life and destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”

The story of David’s victory over Goliath, as pointed out yesterday, reveals some secrets that can help us gain victory over battles of life any day, any time. As mentioned yesterday, if you will be victorious over that situation, look at it from a different perspective.

What else can we learn from this story?

  1. Engage the Battle with Your Tool. It was recorded that David refused to use Saul’s armor to fight Goliath. Why? They were unfamiliar to him. Instead, he used the tools he was familiar with to fight the Goliath. In the eyes of those around him, his tools looked insignificant to challenge a champion giant Goliath.

What tool has God given you to use to defeat your own Goliath? Yours could be seed sowing, fasting and prayer, kingdom advancement prayer, engaging the blood, the anointing oil, praise, etc. The tool you have may not look like tools built for champions, but if God gave it to you, use it with faith.

The truth is that God can take what looks insignificant and use it to give you a significant victory. He can take what others say won’t work and use it to do a great work in your life. Is God laying a seed in your heart to sow to combat that financial crisis you’re in? Is He telling you to embark on prayer and fasting with focus on kingdom advancement or engaging high praise? What tool has God given you? Use it to achieve your victory.

Don’t be carried away by what someone else used to gain victory over the challenges of their life. Focus on your own given tool. The armor of Saul worked for him to a certain extent, but David was smart enough to reject them by focusing on what God gave him. You know the end of the story – he brought Goliath down.

It’s your turn. Don’t underestimate that instruction that God lays in your heart while reading your Bible, listening to a sermon or reading MTD. Don’t take that tool for granted. Your victory lies in it.

PROPHETIC PRAYER: Victory is yours today and forever, in Jesus name.

I believe Morning Tea Devotional has blessed you.
