TEXT: “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain..” (Psalm 127:1)
It is an established truth from scripture that testimonies are direct manifestations of God’s help. You need the help of God irrespective of your political, economic or academic status. This is because except the Lord builds, your efforts will be in vain; and except He watches, no security measures can truly keep you safe.
Many people are empty of testimonies today because they lack the help of God and it is largely because they focus on man instead of God. For instance, doctors can provide excellent care for you in health crises but it is in vain to put your trust in them because their abilities have limits. Ultimate healing and help in health crises come from God and God alone.
Are you troubled on how to clear your bills? Is your marriage on the verge of collapse? Is your business going down with no hope of rising again? Whatever trouble you are in right now, the help of God is locating you today, in Jesus name. Stop running to men for help that is beyond their ability to offer. To look for help from sources other than God is to invite defeat. That doesn’t mean that man cannot help you. Man will only help you when God chooses to use him.
However, you cannot secure the help of God if you don’t belong to His family through genuine salvation. God is not obligated to help you if you are not part of His family. Many people are calling on God for help today, but their sinful lifestyle blocks them from receiving His help. You can’t truly be a part of God’s family unless you have returned to Him in genuine repentance.
Genuine repentance allows you to receive help from God. Attending church cannot substitute for salvation, nor can holding a title or position within the Church. Salvation entails acknowledging your sins and being willing to turn to God by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Without being born again, you cannot access the help I am referring to. The Bible says: “Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers” (Job 8:20).
