TEXT: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1Thess 5:18)
- PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life into a better one, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Knowing the will of God is a pathway to receiving from God. Answers to prayers are only guaranteed when asked according to God’s will. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1John 5:14).
It is essential therefore to know what the will of God is, so we don’t pray in vain.
According to our anchor scripture today, the will of God is thanksgiving. Giving God thanks guarantees the release of the balance of our blessing for 2024. When you appreciate God for what He has done, it makes the blessings in your hands to appreciate. What you appreciate God for, appreciates in your hands (Jer 30:19).
You can only obtain God’s promises after you have done His will and thanksgiving is His will. When you find yourself complain this season, it is a trap of the devil to stop you from receiving your balance of God’s blessings. No matter your current stage or level, give God thanks. You may not be where you desired to be but, you are not where you used to be.
Don’t come to a point in your life, whether in plenty or in lack, where you feel God doesn’t deserve your thanksgiving. In plenty, thank Him. In lack, thank Him. Learn to always lift your hands in thanksgiving to God, regardless of your circumstances. Bishop Oyedepo said: “If you lost anything, God is the reason why you have not lost everything. With this attitude this month, the balance of your blessings for 2024 is guaranteed.
