ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Rom 4:20)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, by your Word today, help me to keep my eyes on your promises, in Jesus name – Amen.“
As we conclude our study on praise today, let me leave you with these thoughts: “Your focus will determine your response to life. Whatever occupies your heart will eventually find expression through your mouth. When your attention is fixed on problems, complaining becomes inevitable. But when your eyes are fixed on God’s promises, your heart will overflow with praise naturally.”
That was the secret of Abraham in today’s anchor scripture. He refused to allow his circumstances to control his response. Instead, he held on to God’s promise and continued giving glory to Him, being confident that God would do exactly what He had said.
One of the ways to keep your heart fixed on God’s promises is by praying in the Holy Ghost. As you pray in tongues, your spirit rises above fear and discouragement and God’s Word becomes more real to you than your circumstances. It becomes easier to praise God because your confidence is no longer in what you see but in what God has spoken.
