TEXT: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Rom 8:28)
Every child of God needs the favour of God upon his/her life. The favour of God can take a believer to places where money and qualifications cannot. The favour of God can bring opportunities into your life which skill and hardwork cannot. If all you have only come through toil and sweat, then you lack the favour of God on your life. What hard work and sweat cannot bring into your life, the favour of God can bring it. Don’t you think it is important to know how to keep this favour flowing on our life?
As examined yesterday, to keep the favour of God on your life flowing, firstly, you need to have an attitude of gratitude. Secondly, ensure to prioritise your spirituality above all other things.
What more?
- LOVE FOR GOD: Your love for God entitles you to the flow of God’s favour. David was a man after God’s own heart, a lover of God, and God lavished him with favour (1Sam 13:14). The Bible also records that Solomon loved the Lord that he reared an altar of sacrifice to God as a result and God granted him access to His favour (1Kgs 3:3-13).
What do you say about Joseph who was an epitome of God’s favour? This favour took him to Potiphar’s house who put him in charge of his entire estate. The favour followed him to the prison where he was appointed an overseer to oversee the rest prisoners. This same favour brought him before the king for multiple change of levels (Gen 39). Hear me, every true lover of God enjoys God’s favour. This is because when we walk in love, we are entitled to a blank cheque from God which secures the supernatural in our life (1Cor 2:9).
However, we must understand that God’s love is practical. Loving God goes beyond lips confession. It has proofs. The Bible says: For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous (1John 5:3).
Number one proof of our love for God is our obedience to Him and His word. Jesus Christ said: “If you love me, keep my commandments.” You can’t love God and be disobedient to His word. Jesus proved His love for the Father by obeying all His instructions, even to the point of death on the cross: the most shameful death of His time (Phil 2:8, Gal 3:13). God demands that we obey Him, not as convenient but as commanded. Grace for delightsome obedience is yours today, in Jesus name.
PRAYER: Anything contending with your love for God is giving way right now, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION:
This year 2024, I am advancing in adversity because I’ve been redeemed to flourish in hard times therefore my life shall be full of wonders. Amen and amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: “If all you have only come through toil and sweat, then you lack the favour of God on your life.”
